Ending abortion
We have been deceived you know. The Republican Party is not really pro-life. Oh they say they are, but unfortunately the walk does not match the talk. For over more than a decade Republicans have held power in Washington DC and we are no closer to ending abortion than we were when Bill Clinton was elected president in 1992. Have you considered this?
How often have conservatives pointed out that black Americans follow lock, stock, and barrel behind the Democratic Party. Statistics show that over 90% of blacks voted Democratic in the last election....a statistic that has changed very little over the past 40 years. I often hear people make fun of how ignorant blacks must be to continually vote for Democrats. "Democrats only make blacks' problems worse" I've heard many times. Well isn't that funny....
Evangelicals have voted in majority numbers for Republicans in the past several elections. The "values voters" as the media likes to call them, vote mainly on abortion, homosexual unions, and "family values". They are a solid voting base for the Republican party. What would happen to the Republican base if abortion was made illegal, and same-sex unions where out-lawed? Well, for one thing, millions of voters would now focus their attention to other issues when choosing a candidate, and the Republican Party would not have the lock on the "value voters" that they currently have.
Instead of pointing out the blind-allegiance of blacks to the Democrats perhaps it is time that we looked into our own neighborhood, and the evangelicals blind loyalty to Republicans. Are the loyalty of the two groups really that different?
Read my recent article Killing Black Babies to see how President Bush could turn the tables on the abortion industry. But he doesn't really want to. If abortion were outlawed, evangelicals might seek out other issues upon which to vote. We can't have that. No, the Republicans love evangelical votes more than the hate child killing.
